When it comes to new blogging it’s important to remember to keep your head down and keep writing your awesome content.
Promote it on various social media platforms and continue writing consistently about 2-3 times per week, and promote the remainder of the time.

One thing I learned from Veteran blogger Matthew Woodward is: Take the time to comment on other blogs 20 minutes every day 5 days a week.
You could also send a quick email noting that you’ve mentioned him or her on your site.
It doesn’t take long but this is a strategy that a lot of new bloggers neglect doing.
Not only can you get more blog traffic fast, but you build a connection with other more experienced bloggers who are invaluable in aiding you on your journey.
This is also where Facebook group collaborations come in very handy.
Continuously Share And Update Old Content
I love updating old content! Whether with new affiliate links, or new blog post links, or updated blog content information.
Then I push out the content and it’s like brand new again.
This is what’s so great about ‘evergreen’ content.
It’s timeless and can be used over and over again.
Link To Other Articles Within Your Posts
This is helpful for getting your site indexed faster thereby providing you with more traffic.
If you link to other articles from high-quality blogs Google recognizes this and ranks your blog accordingly.
The well-known blog NicheHacks does this brilliantly.
Just remember to credit the other blogger or blog site when you do and let them know about it (important).
Optimize Your High-Quality Images
In the beginning of my blogging venture, I was all over the place with my images.
I’m certain I confused the heck out of Google. Even now I still have a hard time of it.
I know it’s important to have cohesive images on your blog and social media for branding purposes.
My wise advice to you is; pick 2 or 3 colors on your blog and stick with them.
Your audience needs to be able to recognize you. If you keep switching it up they will get confused.
Think of the major brands; Coke, Pepsi, Nike,etc.. If you want to be taken seriously in business and branding you must pick ‘a look’ and be consistent with it.
Remember to label your alt tags appropriately to describe the image.
This is because Google can only read text and not images.
Focus On Pinterest
For most bloggers, Pinterest is key for traffic.
Unless you want to pay for direct traffic in the form of ads, Pinterest gets bloggers approximately 80% of overall traffic to their respective websites.
It’s truly a fantastic way to get your content in front of others who are seeking what you are promoting.
And the great thing is that your pins never die. They live forever!
One of my favorite traffic strategies is to make 3 or 4 different pins for one post on Pinterest and flood your blog with traffic!

I pin approximately 150-200 pins daily. I’d be crying if I had to do this manually all the time. It’s so well worth it!

Join Pinterest Group Boards & Tribes
Joining Pinterest Group boards can be a vital element in gaining massive traffic to your new blog.
The latest Pinterest update mentioned that there is less emphasis on Group boards now, however, you’ll still find that the top bloggers have quite a few relevant group boards (Over 100).
I have 81 which gets me about 150K views monthly.
Just remember that it’s also important to have your own boards for your own niche and to build those up as well.
Tailwind Tribes are awesome for gaining speed on sharing your pins on Pinterest.
Not all tribes are equal though and you have to do some research on which ones are the best for you.
A Tribe that isn’t performing well won’t do your blog a service.
Join Facebook Blogging Groups
Facebook groups are wonderful for networking, collaborating and seeing what other bloggers are sharing.
I notice I always get a nice little spike in traffic when I share on Facebook.
It’s always great to have your content promoted by others and when you share back they remember you!
To ultimately start and run your own Facebook Group is a real booster in obtaining blog traffic as well!
Write Actionable Posts
I know it’s tempting to write whatever you feel like some time, but the rule of thumb is you want your posts to be directly relevant for your target audience.
Remember you’re not writing for yourself, you’re writing for them.
They’re reading your post to look for something specific.
Your title snagged them (hopefully) and your job is to provide them with the answer.
The best strategy to consistently draw traffic is to write evergreen posts that can be read months and even years from now.
These subjects will never become old in nature.

Imagine if your article got linked to a super famous blog that got hundreds of thousands of viewers? See what I mean? Instant traffic!
If you see a blog that is in your particular niche that you want to guest post on they probably have a guest post section that you can apply for.
Go for it! Don’t be afraid of rejection. Persistence is key!
Survey Your Readers
Ask your readers what they want to hear more of.
Take surveys, ask questions, send emails. Find out what pains, problems, issues, your readers want solutions to.
How else will you know? You are not a mind reader.
Sometimes I think I’d get traffic to a certain post and it would be a complete dud.
Why? Because I was listening to myself and not my audience.
To be a successful blogger you need to hone in on the requests and needs of your target audience.

But you definitely need a loyal fan base. In that case, you need to keep serving up more of what they want.
You need to know exactly down to the nittiest grittiest detail what they are looking for so you can keep offering it to them.
